The deadline for St. Johns County residents to register to vote, or for registered voters to change their party affiliation, in the upcoming August Primary Election is Monday, July 25.

Online voter registration is available at registertovoteflorida.gov. Voter registration is also available at local public libraries, tax collectors’ offices, and the Supervisor of Elections Office during regular business hours. It is recommended that all voters go to votesjc.gov and use My Voter Status to check their registration status. The site can also be used to update voter records, view sample ballots or request a vote-by-mail ballot.

The Aug. 23 primary election is open to all registered voters in St. Johns County. As Florida is a closed primary state, voters may only vote the ballot of the party in which they are registered. Republican and Democratic voters receive their perspective ballots. Voters who are registered with a minor political party or as “No Party Affiliation” receive a nonpartisan ballot, which only includes nonpartisan races such as judicial and school board.

For more information, go to votesjc.gov or call the elections office at 904-823-2238.
