Tuesday is election day, and there are municipal elections in cities and towns across the state.

Secretary of State Dennis Merrill said that there are approximately 2.3 million registered voters in the state, which is the highest voter we have in the state.

Residents will vote for town leaders, and some towns will vote in front of voters. You can view the complete list of matches here.

All other voters must show:

This website allows you to find your voter registration and polling stations.

The Secretary of State’s Office also posted sample ballots for cities and towns. You can view your local ballot here.

If you have not registered to vote, but want to vote, Connecticut does have an election day registration.

This allows Connecticut residents who are eligible to vote to register and vote in person on election day, as long as they meet the eligibility requirements to vote in that state and have not registered or registered in one town but moved to another town.

Your polling station does not provide election day registration, but it can be done at the designated election day registration location in each town, starting at 6 a.m. and ending at 8 p.m. You will register and vote at a designated EDR location in your town. You must register before 8pm to vote. You need to provide proof of identity and residence.

Find the place to register on election day here.

All absentee ballots must be received before 8pm on election day to be counted.

Voters planning to return absent ballots should use the safe absentee ballot box in their city.

Election Day Hotline 1-866-SEEC-INFO (1-866-733-2463) will be set up to report voting issues

There is also an email address, election@ct.gov, for voters to use if they encounter any difficulties in voting during the day.
