Early voting starts on November 27, elections on December 11

Baton Rouge-According to Secretary of State Kyle Ardoin, early voting for the December 11 election will begin on Saturday, November 27 and will last until Saturday, December 4, at 8:30 a.m. every day Minutes until 6 pm, excluding Sunday, November 11. 28.

Citizens who want to vote in advance can go to their parish voter registration office or other designated places to vote in person. 

  The 7 dioceses will have local propositions and candidate races: Ascension, Bossier, Catahura, East Baton Rouge, Iberia, Orleans and Rapids.

The 26 dioceses will have only local propositions: Acadia, Allen, Assumption, Avoyelles, Beauregard, Bienville, Caddo, Calcasieu, Concordia, DeSoto, Grant, Jefferson, Lafourche, Livingston, Morehouse, Natchitoches, St. Helena, St. Landry, St. Mary, St. Tammany, Tangipahoa, Tensas, Terrebonne, Union, Washington and West Carroll.

1 parish will only have a candidate race: Vernon.

One diocese will have a local proposition and a recall election: Wahita.

29 dioceses will not hold elections: Caldwell, Cameron, Clayburn, East Carroll, East Feliciana, Evangeline, Franklin, Eberville, Jackson, Jefferson Davis , Lafayette, LaSalle, Lincoln, Madison, Praquemine, Pointe Cupe, Red River, Richland, Sabine, St. Bernard, St. Charles, St. James, St. John, St. Martin, Vermilion , Webster, West Baton Rouge, West Feliciana and Win.

Officials encouraged voters to use GeauxVote Mobile, a free smartphone app in Louisiana, to locate early voting locations in the parish, election day voting sites, or to view their sample ballots.

The virtual voter assistant GeauxBot can also access relevant election information, such as registration deadline, election date, voting location and time. GeauxBot is accessible 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, please visit voterportal.sos.la.gov or choose election and vote on sos.la.gov.

In response to the COVID-19 pandemic, voting commissioners will be equipped with personal protective equipment and will regularly disinfect designated areas and wipe the voting machines between each voter. Voters will also be provided with hand sanitizer. It is recommended to wear a mask, but it is not required.

In addition to a Louisiana driver’s license, a Louisiana special ID or a recognized ID with a picture and signature, voters can also use a digital license through LA Wallet.
