Farouk says corrupt parties will never support electoral reform

Islamabad: The Minister of State for Press and Broadcasting, Farouk Habib, said on Wednesday that corrupt parties will never be able to support electoral reforms.

He questioned the Pakistan People’s Party (PPP)’s reluctance to discuss the use of electronic voting machines (EVM) in elections.

Bilawal is talking about reforming the local government system, but why he is unwilling to use EVM to make the system transparent consulting (government), he responded to the PPP chairman's press conference in a press statement issued by his office.

He lashed out at Bilawal Bhutto-Zardari for abandoning consultations on electoral reform, which is essential to ensure free, fair and transparent polls in the country. He asked the chairman of the PPP why his party hurriedly passed the local government election law in Sindh without consulting with the opposition.

The minister stated that the Sindh provincial government condones various mafia to exploit the people of the province, adding that due to PPP corruption that supports hoarders and profiteers, Sindh has experienced extreme inflation.
